About

A space where
you can simply
be yourself.

I'm Art Maines, a licensed clinical social worker based in St. Louis. My practice is built on a simple belief: every person carries within them the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change.

I provide a warm, confidential, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore whatever brings you to therapy — whether that's anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma, or the quiet sense that something needs to shift.

My approach is collaborative. I don't believe in having all the answers — I believe in walking alongside you as you discover your own. Together, we'll work at a pace that feels right for you, with honesty and care.

Approach

Therapy that meets
you where you are.

I draw from several evidence-based approaches, tailoring each session to your unique needs and goals. The work we do together is informed by what the research shows — but it's shaped by who you are as a person.

Talk Therapy

Conversational, relational therapy that gives voice to what you're carrying. Sometimes the most powerful tool is a thoughtful, present witness.

CBT & EMDR

Cognitive behavioral therapy and EMDR are among the most researched treatments available. I use them when they're the right fit for your concerns.

Trauma-Informed

Trauma affects everyone differently. I approach it with patience, respect, and a deep commitment to helping you feel safe in the process.

Services

What we can
work on together.

Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. Here are some of the areas I commonly work with — but whatever brings you through the door, it matters.

  • Anxiety & Stress — Persistent worry, panic, overthinking, and the weight of chronic stress
  • Depression — Feeling stuck, numb, or disconnected from things that once mattered
  • Trauma & PTSD — Processing past experiences and their ongoing impact on your life
  • Grief & Loss — Navigating the deep, complex emotions that come with loss
  • Life Transitions — Career changes, relationship shifts, identity questions, and major life decisions
  • Relationship Difficulties — Communication patterns, boundaries, and attachment concerns
